G.I.Bill Emergency Checks–Whats your story?
The Virginia Veteran wants to hear your story. Did you walk in and out and recieve an
emergency check or was it a day of horrors? Please post your candid detailed story on vavet or the facebook comments to give us an idea of how this is, or is not, being handled. Capitol hill, and the VA, are some of VA Vets most adamant followers so post away!
Also, we have recieved word some veterans are being told to not cash their checks within 48 hours? Has anyone else been told this and why? Any other info out there is much appreciated.

There were several Congressmen at the VA Regional Office in DC. Overall everyone was trying to help. But it was hot and the overall wait was 4 1/2 hrs. I arrived around 9:20am and left at 1:40pm. The VA workers are doing their best, but the bureaucracy is the problem. In an interview with the Pentagon Channel I suggested that the VA hire some of these vets who are trying to find jobs. This would allow those to serve again and help others, this seems to be a situation which would help everyone.
